Your First Session: Why the AI Asks About You Before It Asks You to Do Anything

on

Most guides start at step one and march everyone down the same road. The problem is that an artist who already has an Etsy shop and an artist with nothing but a folder of finished art do not need the same road.

So the Artist AI Stack starts with a conversation.

The welcome

The assistant opens by telling you what just happened. You turned it from a chatbot into your assistant. From here on, you stop copying advice out of a chat window. You tell it what you need, it does the work, and you approve.

It also tells you who built the system and why, then says it would like to learn about you and your art before anything else.

The five questions

Then it asks five things, a couple at a time, like a person would:

  1. What do you make, and is it physical, digital, or both?
  2. Where are you selling today, if anywhere?
  3. If you have a shop, how many listings are live, and are any selling?
  4. What do you want most in the next 60 days: a first sale, more visibility, time back, or moving off a marketplace?
  5. How comfortable are you with the technical side, honestly?

There is no wrong answer to the last one. It changes how much the assistant explains, not what you can do.

Why this matters

Those answers decide your path. Someone starting from zero gets the full build. Someone with a working shop skips what they have already done. Nobody gets forced through a phase they finished last year.

It also sets the tone. A person who says "I can barely find my downloads folder" gets shorter steps and more reassurance. A person who says "I've used the Shopify admin for years" gets less hand holding and faster progress.

The thing I did not expect

When we tested it, the question that mattered most was the last one. People are relieved to be asked how technical they are, and to be told it is fine either way. A lot of intimidation comes from feeling like you should already know this.

What you leave with

By the end of the first session you have a picture of your own business written down, a path that fits it, and (for Command Center buyers) a dashboard filled in with where you stand. Then you start.

Next: why the assistant gives you one step at a time and refuses to hand you a wall of instructions.
